Altitude   http://www.kjti.co.uk/

North Pakistan is blessed with towering mountains from four of the highest mountain ranges in the world: the Pamirs, Hindu Kush, Karakorum, and the Great Himalaya. The mountains are amoung the biggest in Asia, which tower above ranges any where else in the world:

As we will be visiting places of quite high altitude, there is a very small possibility that some people may experience mild altitude sickness. It is impossible to predict whether or not you will be affected as it has no bearing on age, weight, physical fitness etc. It should not be a major problem, as we will not be doing any significant walking on the trip, and we reach altitude gradually. Contact lenses are not recommended at altitude so bring a pair of glasses as a substitute. Please remember that the sun is stronger at high altitudes, and when in an open-top jeep in the sunshine 8 hours a day it’s easy to burn, even through your Shalwaar Chemise. Also, the cool breeze in the back of the jeep can often mislead you as to how hot it really is. Therefore, please bring some high-factor sun cream, lip-balm with sunscreen, and a sun hat.
