"Simply stunning…a trip that stuns the senses and awakens the mind. KJTI takes you on a visual extravaganza to a land of awesome scenery and fascinating cultural diversity where one day can feel like a week. As a keen photographer, I particularly remember North Pakistan as a region where roads endlessly meander through steep gorges, where the refreshingly cold spray of the Indus tingled my face and the soaring mountainscapes quite honestly left me breathless. I also found that the eclectic mix of new food, interesting, fun people and local custom familiar to any seasoned traveller reached a new dimension. Make this adventure and discover the meaning of sensory awareness." Nick, Lawyer, London

"There are no separate ‘culture activities’ on a KJTI trip. You will not go out for a ‘picture session with the natives:’ you will be invited to dinner. No one is specially paid to perform ‘sacred dances’ while you watch: you will dance, as everyone dances, when musicians can be found. I held children, I helped make roti, I was invited into so many homes I thought I couldn’t drink another cup of tea. KJTI is three weeks of immersion in the cultures of North Pakistan. As a woman, I thought cultural differences would prevent me from travelling alone in Pakistan, but I also didn’t want to be a ‘tourist,’ seeing the sights from the cage of a tour bus. KJTI provided a bridge between me and the cultures that otherwise seemed inaccessible." Tay, Student, USA

"The breathtaking landscape will make an indelible impression on you, providing you with a life-enriching experience. You can walk in the foothills of Nanga Parabat where the dramatic sunrise turns the snow to gold, or, lie on your charpoi as the moon rises above the pointed 20,000ft peaks, bathing them in light as bright as day. You will meet few tourists in the mountains, while in the towns you can enjoy bargaining over carpets, leather goods and lapis lazuli. Be prepared to spend up to eight hours a day in a jeep, do not expect to be pampered, landslides may delay your progress. There are no art galleries, great buildings or monuments. Go for the awesome mountain landscape.

You will not be disappointed." Tony, Retired Professional

An invaluable aspect of the trip was that we never ran out of bottled water. The whole trip was well managed. Also, Karim's innumerable 'contacts' made the trip even more interesting. Keith, Teacher, Kent

I had a most enjoyable trip, it was at times hard traveling but that is part of travel in remote places and even adds to the adventure and it is a trip I will remember for a long time to come. Jonathan, Engineer, Devon

Ideal trip. Although we kept to the itinerary almost exactly, with such a small group, I always felt that suggestions for changes could have been accommodated. Dominic, Southampton

Met our best expectations. High level of service prior to trip. V. good organization on the trip and everything done to cut out hassle. Drivers safe and gave confidence. Every body paid great attention to our welfare. Andrew, Consultant, London

Without knowledge of KJTI it would be difficult to find good accommodation where we traveled. Very proficient drivers. Felt secure. To many British the NWFP area is of special interest because of mountain climbing and Historical Jinks. It is important to accept that Islam is a very strong part of Pakistan. You will see nothing of Pakistan if this is not presented in an understandable way. This experience is different. What a shame more Europeans cannot have this experience. Education is much more powerful than force. Richard, Doctor, New Zealand

Jayne and I have now returned from our first KJTI trip. We expected a lot from our holiday but I wish to say that the trip itself exceeded our wildest dreams. Pakistan is a lovely country, the people genuinely friendly and welcoming, the scenery, as you know, just quite superb.

I have wanted to visit Pakistan for some years now and did a considerable amount of research on what I expected from a trip. Your itinerary was perfect as it covered 95% of everything I wanted to see.

The organization of the trip and the way we were looked after could not have been better. Everything was ready for us when we arrived and the drivers were not only skilled at their job but were attentive and considerate hosts. Problems were merely a challenge to them and difficulties were swept aside without the slightest demur. Along with others in the group I found a couple of people on the trip to be unusually difficult and demanding and it is a measure of your drivers that they were handled so well.

I would like to say that your recommendation that we wear the shalwar kamize is an excellent one. I did have some initial reservations about this and wondered if it smacked of tokenism. However I now agree with it entirely, not only is it the perfect outfit to wear, we received many comments from the locals and I am sure were treated better because of it.

Once again, thank you for a terrific holiday. Ian, Chief Inspector of Police, Scotland

Northern Pakistan is a spectacular area and the people are incredibly welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately the Western media and its views have blighted the tourist industry and we are keen that others should realise how wrong they are.

Thank you for a wonderful trip, we wish you and KJTI all the very best for the future.

Chris and Rachel, Accountants, Bedfordshire

A well thought out itinerary – a fair price and superb representation on both guides and drivers. Thank you. Andrew, Retired, Truro

Not only did we enjoy the magnificent scenery but Ehsan (guide) introduced us to the people, customs and culture of Pakistan and it was this which really made the trip memorable. A very enjoyable and memorable trip. Karen

The unrivalled mountain scenery and the friendly hospitable people make Northern Pakistan a must for the serious or discerning traveller. It is as safe as anywhere else providing practical precautions is taken and consideration is given to local sensitivities. Wearing the traditional dress, the Chalwar Chemise is a very effective way of removing any perceived barriers with locals who will insist on shaking hands and greeting you with friendship and curiosity. Go elsewhere if you want the trappings of Western civilisation but if you want a tremendous travel experience, leave behind the stress and strains of the west, take with you an open mind and a spirit of adventure and go to North Pakistan.

 Rick, British Police Officer, Dorset

A fantastic trip through an incredible country, with remarkable people. Truly the trip of a lifetime. Josephine, Norfolk

I have just returned from popular jeep treck including polo. Karim & team exceeded my wildest dreams in providing fantastic service, thrills, food & holiday. Thank you. John - 2006

I wanted to send a quick message to say what an incredible trip!

Everything went very well indeed. Everyone was amazed from the second day at the scenery - what would be a highlight on any 'normal' trip - i.e. the Rakaposhi View Point is just a prelude to what is to come.
Rounding the corner into the Hunza valley was superb... the Passu Glacier walk was stunning - reaching the top of the ridge and seeing the massif and the glacier below was a shock - I did not think that it could be possible to be so close! The crew were terrific. Karim is excellent, 'Issak' was fantastic in keeping me going to the Nangar Parbat base camp - it took our group around 7 hours, three made it - me last by a good distance - but what a view..........! I need to get into shape for the next trip!! I have attached a photo here of me at the base camp. Could be a good promotional shot for you...

I didn't realise the jeeps were so well adapted - I was in Karim's with the 2.8litre engine and a special suspension (most technical details a bit lost on me) but they are much more comfortable than I anticipated.

I am very pleased that I have made the trip. I and Ken from the trip were mapping out a plan for a return trip in 2007 - two short treks, one Hunza and one Skardu - not the K2 but something shorter, perhaps to Shigar or around Hushe.
p.s. one last thing - the food was excellent too - I have found that Lahore One and Tabeq in London should do lamb handi

My sincere thanks for a fantastic trip. It exceeded all expectations. I have been most impressed with your organisation both within the UK and in Pakistan.

Ken - 2006

Once again thank you for a trip of a life time. In fact in my case two trips (K2 and Jeep trek) of a lifetime. Every one involved was extremely helpful and friendly. They became more brothers to me than my own brothers. Even the porters became part of the family.

In all my travels I have never visited a country where all the population were such friendly people and so kind. It was wonderful to be amongst them; whether Kalash, Hunza, Chitrali, Afghan police or army.

One of the finest things on the whole trek was never worrying about checking the meal bills or being cheated in a shop as everything was paid for.

My only serious criticism which you can do nothing about is that I am now cheering on the Pakistan cricket team!

I just wanted to write to you to say what a fantastic time we had in Pakistan! Thank you so much for organising the trip! From start to finish, it was absolutely brilliant! The guides and drivers were superb, so helpful, efficient and lovely people – they each became good friends to us all.  The itinerary was excellent and enabled us to see a variety of different places. The accommodation was also very good and as for the food, well I’m missing it already! In short, I had the experience of a life-time and am truly sad that it is all over. I hope to go back soon and see more of the country.

Emily - 2006

The trip was absolutely fantastic, we had a thoroughly good time.  The drivers were friendly and also very accommodating.  Pakistan is a beautiful country. We were overwhelmed by the scenery and the variation in both the scenery and the culture.

It was a very good trip / adventure and showed my 16 year old a part of the world that is poorly represented in the media and misunderstood. Very friendly people, always smiling and waving and beautiful scenery

Colin – 2008

I want to express in writing our thanks for the absolutely wonderful (in all senses of the word) holiday that we had with KJTI in Northern Pakistan and China. We were perfectly safe all the time, at no point did we feel threatened, and every one was so friendly – at the Hindu Kush Heights we even had dinner with the prince of Chitral, his wife and daughter. The scenery of course is absolutely magnificent – you get almost blasé about 25,000ft high mountains, but the trip is much more than that as you get close up to the people, their culture and way of life. We were very impressed with our guide, who not only ensued we saw all the best sights and views, but seemed to have a relative or a close friend in virtually every village or town we visited – his love of, and knowledge of the area is incredible. Much thanks to him and driver - an open-top jeep is absolutely the best way to travel the area, and they drove it up and down tracks that I would have thoughts twice about walking/scrambling up!

My Journey to Pakistan: The land of Purity

It was one of my dreams

To come to see the land

Where Alexander's tired soldiers broke

Their journey to settle in the

Beautiful valley called Kalash

There is a place called Khaplu

Where Chinzis Khan's decendants

Still live in their Mongolian look

It is history and I wanted

To see it

In the Group there was Ken,

Simon, Sharon, Susan, John, Derek,

Ray and Stewart.

We had one desire in common,

To see Pakistan

We travelled thousands and thousands

Of miles crossing rivers, mountains

Valleys, and of course, came to know people.

Came to the view point where Himalaya

Karakorum and Hindukush met.

The snow-caped peaks

Stood in front of me in their majestic way.

I felt, if there is heaven,

It is here and the presence of God

In front of this gigantic mountains.

I felt I am no one

Yes, it is the land of Purity where

You will find from chidren to old waiting

To greet you with their joyful voice.

No crime, no robbery,

Poor but Honest people every where.

At the end, it just came in my mind

These words - VINI VIDI VICI

We came, we saw,

And we were concoquered

By the heart of the people.
